GameSpot gave Avatar: The Way of Water a 4/10. It made $2.3 billion anyway.

Rated: 4/10 · Published:
“The movie is at its best when it’s pretending to be the prettiest screensaver you’ve ever seen in your life.”
The math aint mathing. GameSpot looked at Avatar: The Way of Water, a three-hour IMAX ocean cathedral that would swim past $2.3 billion worldwide, and stamped it with a 4/10 like a substitute teacher grading a whale with a parking ticket. I am not saying box office equals quality; I am saying when your score is parked two lanes away from audience behavior, critical consensus, and basic spectacle literacy, you need more evidence than 'motion smoothing made me sad.' A 4/10 is not a review score here. It is a flare gun fired from inside a spreadsheet made of soup.
