GameSpot compared Pikmin 4 to a to-do list, then gave the to-do list an 8.

“It took me more than 20 hours with Pikmin 4 before I identified that the sensation it evoked was the same as that of completing my to-do list.”
The math aint mathing. GameSpot opens its Pikmin 4 review by saying the game feels like completing a to-do list, then somehow walks that clipboard all the way to an 8/10 like a spreadsheet goblin escorting a Roomba to prom. If your central metaphor for a game is household administration, your scoring scale has already fallen into the office shredder wearing a tiny onion helmet. An 8 is supposed to mean great, not 'I achieved inbox zero and felt emotions near a dog.'
